The Octavehive v2 marks the return of one of Beetronics FXs very first fuzzbox creations, sporting the same vintage-meets-modern blend of octave fuzz of the original and a few user-friendly upgrades thrown in for good measure. Just like the first Octahive, this v2 version boasts two distinct tonal voices: BUZZZ and Octave. Swap to the former to unlock a pummeling high-gain fuzz ferocity perfect for deep riffage and ground-shaking power chords. In comparison, BUZZZ produces a more vintage-style spread of outstanding octave fuzz sounds, ready to transform your typical leads into psychedelic sputtering madness. However, what most impressed us at Sweetwater was the Octahive v2s revamped control scheme, replacing the side-mounted switch of the original with a much more intuitive customizable double-tap mode switch no more leaning over to switch modes! Add the redesigned enclosure with Beetronics FXs signature bee-themed visual brilliance, and the Octahive v2 is a must-have pedal for any serious fuzz fanatic.
The Octahive v2s combination of a thunderous fuzz tone and a high-octave effect gives you two truly unique fuzz styles. The BUZZZ mode delivers everything we love about a classic high-gain fuzz tone; its loaded with enough bite and clarity to make it an excellent do-it-all choice for rhythm and lead work. The octave side, however, is not for the faint of heart. This setting sends you straight into the wild, psychedelic world of octave fuzz, and its just the thing for guitarists seeking a new tonal color or secret sonic weapon.
Luckily for die-hard Octahive fans everywhere, the original pedals dual-voice setup of high-gain fury and psychedelic octave fuzz has remained in full fuzzy force in the Octahive v2. However, you might have noticed that the controls arent quite the same instead of the originals side-mounted switch, the Octahive v2 offers a more user-friendly double-tap mode switch. This switchs unique array of functions allows you to hold or double-tap it to swap between modes, making it much easier to access the Octahive v2s full range of tones in the middle of a performance. Moreover, you also get three customizable footswitch profiles to dial in your double-tap functionality and the speed of your momentary switching.
